Two people are recovering Friday after being shot in what police say was an apparent attempted robbery.

Investigators say 70-year-old Vincent Defranco and 65-year-old Sally King, both of Ontario, were shot on Mount Read Boulevard just after 12:30 a.m. Friday. They say two men emerged from the railroad tracks and approached the people as they entered their cars. Police say the men shot the two as they tried to get away in their cars.

Police say both victims were taken to Strong Memorial Hospital and have since been released.

Investigators believe the shooting was an attempted robbery gone wrong.

Police say they are still investigating and no arrests have been made. They're asking anyone with information to call 911.
