Rochester man dead following motorcycle crash on 490

One man is dead after sheriff’s deputies say he crashed his motorcycle on 490 in Perinton on Sunday afternoon.

Deputies say James Weber, 63, was headed westbound on 490, near the Bushnell’s Basin exit, when the back tire of his motorcycle blew out.

Investigators say the Rochester man was pulling a small motorcycle trailer and managed to get to the shoulder of the highway, but deputies say the trailer began to sway, causing the motorcycle to flip over. Weber was ejected from the bike and suffered serious injuries.

He was taken to the Strong Memorial Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
