More than a quarter of Americans have no emergency savings. That's according to Bankrate which says of those who do have an emergency stash, the majority have less than the recommended six months.
Adults age 30 to 49 are the most likely to have no emergency savings while 18 to 30 years olds are most likely to have five months of savings put away. That's attributed to the younger group living with roommates or mom and dad.
