A 19-year-old Shortsville woman was taken to the hospital Sunday after sheriff’s deputies say she fell off the hood of a moving vehicle.

Investigators say Brittany Covert jumped on the hood of a vehicle owned by 18-year-old Colby Cuthbertson of Shortsville. According to deputies, Cuthbertson was driving on County Road 28 towards Kyte Road when another vehicle approached from behind. We’re told Cuthbertson turned into a driveway, causing Covert to fall off the hood of the vehicle and hit the pavement. Covert was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital to be evaluated. She has since been discharged.

Cuthbertson was cited for permitting clinging to a motor vehicle. He is due in Farmington Town Court at a later date to answer to the charge.
