An Albion Correctional Facility corrections officer, accused of raping an inmate, pleaded not guilty in Ogden Town Court Monday afternoon.

John Randolph, 49, is charged with third-degree rape and official misconduct. Investigators say a relationship developed between Randolph and an inmate in the prison and then turned physical while the inmate was outside the facility on a work release program. We’re told the two had sex multiple times in the Town of Ogden.

Officials say Randolph was a corrections officer at the facility for 24 years.

Randolph is due back in court on July 10.
