Corrections officer accused of raping inmate pleaded not guilty

An Albion Correctional Facility corrections officer, accused of raping an inmate, pleaded not guilty in Ogden Town Court Monday afternoon.

John Randolph, 49, is charged with third-degree rape and official misconduct. Investigators say a relationship developed between Randolph and an inmate in the prison and then turned physical while the inmate was outside the facility on a work release program. We’re told the two had sex multiple times in the Town of Ogden.

Officials say Randolph was a corrections officer at the facility for 24 years.

Randolph is due back in court on July 10.
