Police say a woman was drunk when she crashed her car in Gates early Thursday morning.

Investigators say Brittany Harris, 33, was driving on the Route 390 north ramp from Route 490 around 1:15 a.m. when she hit a guard rail. Deputies say the crash caused her car to turn in the opposite direction.

Investigators say Harris was unconscious and trapped in her car when another driver stopped to help her, by punching the windows out and unlocking the vehicle. Crews removed Harris from the car and transported her to Strong Memorial Hospital, where she was treated and released.

Deputies say Harris was intoxicated and is facing DWI charges.
