Six people, including four children, needed assistance from the Coast Guard after their boat began taking on water in the mouth of the Genesee River.

The incident happened around 2:00 p.m. Friday.

The boat was located about 100 yards from the Coast Guard station. Officials say the water was coming from a cracked intake hose on the boat.

The six people remained on the boat while it was towed to shore. No one was hurt.
