A hero’s welcome home for a western New York soldier on Saturday.

Hundreds of people came out to celebrate the return of Major Patrick Miller to his hometown of Allegany.

Miller rode along in a car, serving as a Grand Marshal for the town’s annual “Old Home Week” parade. The parade came to a close at St. Bonaventure University, Miller’s alma mater.

He was also honored with a plaque presented to him by a World War II veteran.

Miller was injured in the Fort Hood shooting rampage back in April while trying to protect others on the base.
