It's a potentially deadly virus that effects up to 5.3 million Americans.
On Monday, Monroe County's Health Department and local leaders will gather at the Genesee and West Main Street bus station starting at 10:30 a.m.to encourage more testing of Hepatitis B and C. The virus, which is more common in the African American community, can lead to liver disease and liver cancer.
The Center for Disease Control reports there are 12,000 cases diagnosed in Monroe County every year, and many more people could go undiagnosed.
