Wegmans' sushi now made with no gluten-containing ingredients

If you enjoy sushi but need to maintain a diet free of gluten, Wegmans has the solution for you. On Monday, the grocery store chain announced that all of its sushi is now made without any ingredients that contain gluten.

Chef John Emerson, Wegmans director of sushi and Asian cuisine said, "We’re proud to say that we offer sushi of outstanding taste and freshness that also happens to be made with no gluten-containing ingredients."

Next time you go to Wegmans, signs at the sushi bar will say, "Made with No Gluten-Containing Ingredients." The company says it wants to keep a distinction between prepared foods made from ingredients that contain no gluten versus gluten-free grocery items which are typically purchased in sealed containers.

The company says two years ago it began working towards the goal of using ingredients that contain no gluten and this month, it reached that goal.
