A tree branch came crashing through a woman’s car, narrowly missing the driver’s seat.

Kim VanOrden was driving near the intersection of Maple and Glide Streets Tuesday afternoon when a large tree limb fell from a tree and landed on the roof of her car.

Kim VanOrden said, “I heard a crash. I heard the windows crashing. Then I see the pole sitting right next to me. It would have gone right through my chest. I’m a little scared, a little shaken up, thanking God.”

VanOrden and her passenger were not injured.

Police say a strong gust of wind caused the limb to snap and fall on the vehicle.
