There is a report out that is claiming that nurses and nursing assistants in our area are extremely underpaid.

Government officials released the numbers Wednesday. It shows that registered nurses should make, on average, $33 an hour and assistants should make around $12.50. However, in the Rochester area, the study shows that registered nurses take home, on average, about $29 an hour, which is significantly less compared to places near New York City where they are paid $36.

News10NBC is trying to speak with some health officials about this report. We’ll have more tonight on News10NBC at 5 and 6.
