There is discouraging news for people looking for jobs in the high-tech sector. A new poll shows Rochester falls in the bottom half of U.S. cities for hiring in science, technology, engineering and math jobs.
Our news partners at the Rochester Business Journal broke down a study by the Brookings Institute. Rochester is ranked 51st out of the 100 biggest cities for successful hiring in those fields. On average, it take employers here more than 30 days to fill STEM jobs.
Jobs in health care and technical occupations took the longest to fill with ads often running more than 40 days before being filled.
