Police are investigating two early morning cases of violence on the city’s east end on Sunday that happened within blocks of each other.
Officers say they heard several gunshots across the street from Captain’s Attic on Charlotte Street. Investigators say no one was injured, but evidence was found in a nearby parking lot.
Then police say a dispute at a club in the East End led to a man being cut overnight by an unknown object.
Rochester Police were called to Magic City on Lawrence Street, around 2 a.m., and found a 36-year-old Webster man who had been cut in his upper body and limbs. The victim, Erik Smothers, was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital with what police believe are non-life threatening injuries. Officers say Smothers was involved in a dispute at the club that escalated.
Last month, two men were shot in the parking lot across from Magic City after leaving the club.
