Beware of the puppy scam

Created: 07/07/2014 6:59 AM WHEC.com

A new scam is targeting people looking to add an adorable puppy to the family. Officials say online thieves will rope you in with photos of cute puppies and then take your money, your information and then disappear.

Ohio's attorney general is warning about an increasing number of these scams but they are found all over the country according to Credit.com.

Since there's more emotion tied to a prospective pet, you have to take steps to protect yourself and your money. The website suggests you never pay for anything, including a pet, without seeing it in person.
