Governor Andrew Cuomo says his request to President Obama for a major disaster declaration for all those affected by the devastating floods last May has been approved.

Federal money will be available to eligible governments and non-profits to help with repairing or rebuilding facilities damaged by the flood waters.

Governor Cuomo's office says this will cover more than $28 million worth of damage in Yates, Livingston and Ontario Counties.
