His time at the New York State Capitol is quickly coming to an end. On Tuesday, News10NBC caught up with current Lieutenant Governor and former Rochester Mayor Bob Duffy to talk about his future plans.

Late last year, Duffy admitted he had interviewed for a job to run the Rochester Business Alliance. News10NBC spoke with him about that Tuesday.

Lt. Governor Robert Duffy said, “As you know, I applied for one position, which I have been and still have an interest in and I’m not promised that, but I want to do something that is connected to economic development in some way. I think I’ve been given an extraordinary opportunity from the governor and I’ve been given so much and exposed to so much and created those relationships, which are so important.”

Duffy announced he will be stepping down at the end of the year. He says he will not seek re-election with Governor Cuomo. Duffy says he made the decision because he wants to spend more time with his family and travel less throughout the year.
