Mothers allowed to breastfeed in Barnes & Noble

Created: 07/10/2014 6:55 AM WHEC.com

Barnes & Noble has signed an agreement with the state allowing women to breastfeed inside.

New York's Attorney General's Office launched an investigation into Barnes & Noble in March after a customer in a downstate store was asked to cover up or leave while nursing inside a store.

Under the agreement, employees will be trained on breastfeeding policies. The chain will also comply with a state law that bans employees from stopping new mothers from nursing.
