Possible change to pilot training to prevent plane crashes

Pilot training could change to prevent plane crashes.

The FAA wants new safety standards for flight simulators to avoid deadly crashes like the one outside Buffalo in 2009. Fifty people died when continental Flight 3407 crashed into a home. Investigators say during the flight, there was a stall warning, but a poor reaction by the captain caused the pilots to lose control of the plane.

The newly proposed standards would create a more realistic training environment in simulators. The captain in the Flight 3407 crash never underwent simulator training for the situation that led to the crash.
