The future of a East End nightclub remains up in the air tonight.

On Friday afternoon, Mayor Lovely Warren and Rochester Police Chief Mike Ciminelli held a meeting with the owner of Magic City, asking the owner to voluntarily shut the bar down.

Last weekend, a Webster man was badly cut by someone inside the club off East Avenue. There was also a shooting outside the building last month.

Rochester Mayor Lovely Warren said, "The one thing we want everyone to be aware of, our citizens as well as our businesses, is that we want to be able to have a vibrant entertainment district and a vibrant place for people to go, but safety is our number one concern."

Magic City's owner said he would take the weekend to make a decision and let the mayor know on Monday.
