Rochester celebrated the birthday of one of the most influential men that ever lived in the city.
On Sunday, The George Eastman House celebrated what would have been George Eastman’s 160th birthday.
Eastman was born on July 12, 1854 in Waterville, New York.
Employees of the Eastman House say they celebrated Eastman’s birthday with live music in his living room, a Sunday tradition for the Kodak founder.
“It’s incredibly important to always continue to remember who he was and what he did for this city. I mean, imagine Rochester, New York without George Eastman, without the Eastman Kodak Company, without the Durand Eastman Park and the Eastman Dental Center. You could go on and on and on,” said Allen Buell, George Eastman House.
