An elderly woman has died following a crash involving a school bus.

The crash happened just before 3:30 p.m. on Scottsville Mumford Road at Wheatland Center Road in Wheatland.

Sheriff’s deputies say 88-year-old Glenna Osborne, of Churchville, was traveling south on Wheatland Center Road and failed to stop at a stop sign. The school bus was headed east on Scottsville Mumford Road and couldn’t stop. The sheriff’s office says the bus t-boned the car, causing significant damage.

Osborne was trapped in the car. She was rescued and taken to Strong Memorial Hospital where she later died. Five of the children on the bus were taken to the hospital as a precaution for minor injuries.

The students were coming from the Genesee Country Village & Museum.
