Have you seen the viral video claiming to show a shark swimming in Lake Ontario? Many people have been asking if it’s real.

The caption on the YouTube video says it was shot on Wolfe Island which is off the coast of Ontario, Canada. It looks like someone taking cell phone video of a group of people fishing and then one of those fishermen hooks a shark. Turns out, the shark is a fake.

The video was produced by the Discovery Channel to promote its "Shark Week" series.

The concept was six weeks in the making and producers intended it to go viral. They knew what they were doing but it had a lot of people worried.
