Millions from the U.S. Navy will keep manufacturing jobs at RIT. Two point one million dollars in federal funding will extend a program with the military for what is called modern manufacturing.

Researchers at a RIT lab take old, outdated military equipment and upgrades them using new technology. The work has allowed the Navy to re-purpose equipment like a Navy jet.

The partnership between the Navy and RIT has been going on for the past 12 years.
