Road work is set to begin Monday on a project to resurface Route 5 in Genesee County. The work will take place from the west LeRoy village line to the Livingston County line.

The first phase starts July 21 when crews will remove pavement markers. Phase two will start the following Monday. Officials say the project should take three weeks to complete.

If you travel through the area, give yourself extra time.
