A Genesee County man has been arrested after he allegedly strangled a woman back in May.
According to the Daily News, police say 26-year-old Edward Loper of Batavia strangled the woman then left the scene as officers were arriving. At that time, a warrant was issued for his arrest.
Loper was arrested late on Saturday night.
During the arrest, Loper was additionally charged with possession of a controlled substance.
He was taken to Genesee County Jail on $5,000 cash bail.
Loper has a previous criminal record. He was convicted of burglary back in 2012.
