As federal officials try to figure out what to do with the thousands of illegal immigrant children now living in the United States, another place is being considered to house these children here in Rochester.

Representatives from the former Blossom South Nursing Home reached out to the mayor’s office on Sunday to see if there was any interest in using the facility to house the immigrant children.

A statement released by Mayor Lovely Warren’s office on Sunday says it was just an initial call, and no proposal or plan has been offered.

News10NBC is told the mayor will be briefed by her chief of staff on Monday.
