There is a new tool will help combat underage drinking at some Ontario County concerts.

Our news partners at the Messenger Post Newspapers report that IDs will soon by analyze at CMAC concerts with a handheld scanner. The Ontario County Board of Supervisors approved funding for the equipment.

Concertgoers are asked for IDs if they're seeking wristbands at the gates of the venue. That's where the scanners will be used. Wristbands are required for anyone who wants to purchase an alcoholic drink at CMAC.
