Former Congresswoman Kathy Hochul could be taking over for Bob Duffy as lieutenant governor after the next election. On Monday, she made her first official stop in Rochester.
Hochul, along with New York State Senator Ted O’Brien, spent the afternoon touring local breweries. She used the stop as an opportunity to tout new legislation pushed by Governor Cuomo intended to help breweries thrive.
Kathy Hochul said, “The urban experience is definitely being improved by initiatives being sponsored by the Governor and his partners, like Senator O'Brien in Albany, because we need to create a better, more open for business climate and we are here today to see what happens when the policies are changed.”
Gov. Andrew Cuomo picked Hochul as his choice to be New York's next lieutenant governor after current Lt. Governor Robert Duffy announced that he is not seeking another term.
Republican gubernatorial candidate Rob Astorino was also campaigning in western New York Monday. He met with voters in Olean.
