Created: 07/22/2014 4:31 PM WHEC.com

A West Henrietta resident reels in a new state record. He made quite a big catch in Irondequoit Bay.

The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation says James Vanarsdall caught the record setting freshwater drum last month. The fish measured 33 and a half inches and weighed more than 26 pounds. That weight beat the last state record by two pounds.
