It is a project that county leaders say will lead to more swimming days at Ontario Beach Park on hot days like this.

Four hundred thousand dollars from the New York State Department of Environment will fund work to remove algae from the swimming area. It will be moved to another part of the lake. It will all be done - through a pipe built into the pier.

Work is set to begin by mid-August. The beach and pier will be open through most of the project.
