A Rochester man is recovering after police say he was shot while sitting on his front lawn. Police say it happened just after 10:30 p.m. on Clifton Street near Reynolds Street.

Investigators say the 37-year-old victim felt what he thought was a gun against the back of head. Police say the man was then shot in the arm. He was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital where he is expected to survive. Police say they are looking for the suspect, who ran off after the shooting.

Investigators believe this was an attempted robbery.
