Sandy Bottom Beach along Honeoye Lake reopens for swimming

Created: 07/24/2014 3:18 PM WHEC.com

A swimming spot along Honeoye Lake is back open.

Sandy Bottom Beach in the town of Richmond was closed Monday because of concerns over algae. The New York State Health Department took a water sample and found no toxins, allowing the beach to reopen Thursday.

The beach was closed at different times last year because of blue green algae.
