A former bookkeeper at the South Seneca Community Volunteer Ambulance Corps is facing charges after sheriff’s deputies say she stole more than $163,000.

Angel Lawrence, 49, of Willard, is charged with grand larceny, forgery and falsifying business records.

Investigators say Lawrence stole $163,849.69 while she was bookkeeper for the ambulance corps between 2012 and June 2014.

She was arraigned in the Town of Fayette Court and remanded to the Seneca County Correctional Facility in lieu of $2,500 cash bail or $5,000 bond. Lawrence is scheduled to reappear in court on July 29 to answer to the charges.
