Firefighters say the blaze started in a storage barn. A hired hand was stacking bales of straw when they noticed a bale on fire.
Nine fire companies responded to the blaze -- including some crews from Monroe County. Mostly those crews were needed for water due to a lack of a water main.
Investigators say the cause is unknown. Crews are looking into the possibility that wet straw spontaneously combusted, igniting the blaze. However, they are still the early stages of the investigation.
No one was hurt, but some cattle had to be moved out of a portion of the barn. A piece of farm equipment was destroyed.
