Monroe County Executive Maggie Brooks has issued a travel advisory for Monroe County. The travel advisory does not restrict travel in Monroe County, but it is intended to remind drivers to exercise caution while traveling on streets impacted by flooding.
The most affected areas include Riga, Wheatland and portions of Chili.
“Given the challenging conditions created by flooding and standing water on many local roadways, I urge residents to avoid unnecessary travel in the affected areas and exercise caution when driving,” said Brooks. “Standing water can cause numerous problems that put drivers at risk including loss of vehicular control. Please allow for extra travel time and expect delays on your evening commute.”
