A new principal has been named at Monroe High School. Rochester City School District Superintendent Bolgen Vargas named Vicma I. Ramos the new principal of Monroe High School.

Dr. Ramos is currently the Executive Director of Student Placement and School Operations. She also served as principal of Monroe for three years, from 2009 to 2012.

Last week, the principal at Monroe High School, Armando Ramirez, was removed from his position. At a school board meeting, students and staff begged the board to keep Ramirez in his position. His removal was blamed on “low morale and poor performance.” Ramirez is tenured so he will still have a position. His new assignment has not yet been announced.
