Rochester man sentenced on bank robbery charges

He admitted he robbed a half dozen banks. 

On Monday, Robert Stevenson, 59, of Rochester, was sentenced to 11 years in prison. He also was ordered to pay $16,425 in restitution.

Stevenson pleaded guilty in a Buffalo courtroom in January to robbing a First Niagara Bank in Kenmore in June 2012.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office says the 59-year-old also robbed banks in Syracuse, Utica, New Hartford, Falconer and Irondequoit from April to November 2012.
