An 18-year-old Wayne County man was pulled from his vehicle moments before it caught fire after a crash in Webster. It happened at the intersection of Basket Road and Woodard Road around 4:30 p.m. Monday.

Police say 28-year-old Lukas Knowlden of Ontario was southbound on Basket Road when a vehicle driven by 18-year-old Brandon Gerritz of Ontario pulled into his path from Woodard Road. Investigators say both vehicles left the road and Gerritz’s vehicle caught fire.

Knowlden, along with two others, were able to remove Gerritz from his car before it caught fire. Gerritz was taken to Rochester General Hospital with serious injuries.
