The Rochester City School District has named a new Principal of Northwest College High School at the Frederick Douglass campus.

Barbara F. Zelazny will replace Dr. Mary Aronson, who is transitioning to another assignment.

Zelazny previously served as Principal of Avon High School. Under her leadership, Avon High School was designated a Reward School, which is the state designation for schools showing the most growth or highest student achievement without significant gaps.

Zelazny will work closely with Dr. Linus Guillory, who is continuing as Acting Principal at Northeast College High School at Douglass, serving students in grades 9 through 12.
