Five servings of fruit, veggies can reduce risk of early death

Just five servings of fruits and vegetables a day can help reduce the risk of early death.
 
These findings contradict recent research suggesting seven or more servings were needed to provide the best protection.  
 
The new study showed the risk of cardiovascular death dropped by four-percent for each additional daily portion of fruits and veggies but there was no extra benefit after five servings.
 
Researchers also found higher fruit and vegetable consumption had no effect on the risk of dying from cancer.
