Seven people, including three children, are recovering after a serious crash in Stafford, Genesee County. Deputies say a minivan driven by 26-year-old Latoya Stanley of Batavia stopped at the intersection of Transit and Sweetland Roads, but continued into the path of a SUV. We're told the SUV T-boned the van, which rolled over.
Deputies say all six people in the van were taken to Strong Memorial Hospital. Markeda Starks, 23, of Rochester, was transported by Mercy Flight. Three of the other passengers were children from Batavia ranging from 3- to 8-years-old.
Deputies say the front seat passenger of the SUV, 27-year-old Ashley Cornett of Corfu was not wearing a seatbelt and suffered a head injury. She was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital by Mercy Flight. The driver and other passenger of the SUV were not hurt. Deputies say everyone is expected to survive.
The driver of the SUV, 27-year-old Jared Flaming of Corfu, is charged with DWI. Charges are pending against the other driver.
