The Buffalo Bills will be headed to Canton and the Pro Football Hall of Fame game against the New York Giants on Sunday night. Before that, it is the main event on Saturday. Andre Reed will finally head into the Pro Hall of Fame. He is the Bills all-time leader in receptions, yards and touchdowns. He also is a big reason why the Bills pulled the greatest comeback in NFL history.
On January 3, 1993, it was the AFC wildcard game between the Bills and Houston Oilers at the then Rich Stadium. Tickets were not sold out, so the game was blacked out on local television, which was a good thing for Bills fans at first.
The Oilers took a 32 point lead and then the comeback, with most of the passes going to Reed. Andre racked up eight catches, 136 yards and three touchdowns, helping the Bills pull off the greatest comeback of all-time. A 41-38 win, en-route to Super Bowl 27.
Reed said, “We played in the second half better than any team I have every played with. I just can't describe it right now.”
