A special service was held on Sunday morning, reaching out to veterans in the Rochester community and helping them cope with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.

The guest speaker, Chad Robichaux, spoke with veterans and their families at the Bethel Christian Fellowship on East Avenue. Robichaux did eight tours in Afghanistan with the US Marines, and he’s also a Mixed Martial Arts World Series champion.  Now, he uses his own story of dealing with PTSD to help other veterans.

“You don’t have to go to Iraq, Afghanistan or Vietnam to have hardships. Everybody faces the struggles of life, but it’s what we do with them. Do we crawl under a rock, or do we embrace them and find out how we can use that experience to improve ourselves and to get better and help others,” Robichaux said.

Robichaux is a part of the Mighty Oaks Division, a program to help wounded veterans and their families.
