Breaking down racial division -- that's the goal of a new local program.

The YWCA and RIT are teaming up for Person-to-Person. The effort will bring together pairs of people from different ethnic backgrounds to build understanding and to better foster relationships within the community.

President and CEO of YWCA of Rochester Jean Carroll said, “The true change takes place one person at a time. It’s really about changing the hearts and minds of people and creating understanding.”

A $130,000 grant from the Rochester Area Community Foundation is funding the person to person program.
