Authorities say they've charged a 26-year-old man with setting a series of fires that damaged vehicles and buildings in a Buffalo-area community.
Police in the city of North Tonawanda tell local media that Christopher Syracuse was arrested Tuesday night and charged with 13 counts of arson and criminal mischief.
Officials say Syracuse set seven fires over a two-hour span beginning late Monday night and ending early Tuesday morning. Police say some of the fires were started in vehicles and the flames spread to nearby homes, damaging several.
Syracuse also is expected to be charged with setting a fire in the city of Tonawanda that damaged a car and two homes.
No injuries were reported.
He's being held in jail pending arraignment Wednesday morning. It couldn't be determined if he has a lawyer.
