A Farmington man who fell while descending from the fourth waterfall in Grimes Glen gorge in Naples on Wednesday is in guarded condition.

Ontario County sheriff’s deputies say 46-year-old Phillp Defranco fell some 40 feet after he lost his footing on the waterfall around 4 p.m. They say he fell onto a stone ledge, where he landed on his head and chest.

Defranco was flown to Strong Memorial Hospital by LifeNet medical helicopter with head and chest injuries, according to deputies.
