Over the years, pro football has seen its fair share of entertaining press conferences. From Jim Moras playoff rant to Dennis Green’s scouting report of the Chicago Bears. This season, Bills Coach Doug Marrone has been concise when addressing the media. However, today, he was more open about the Bills’ next preseason game.
Marrone said, “For me, I want to make sure we know what we are doing, we are lining up and then we are watching guys go out there and play. We are making sure, at the end of the day that we can figure out and come to a conclusion of who the best players are to make this roster.”
EJ Manuel won't lose sleep trying to make the roster, but fans may grow restless if his offense doesn't find the end zone.
Manuel said, “I just want to score, that is the big thing for me. I just want to go out there and get our first touchdown under our belt, not just a field goal. I know it is not going to be very long that we are playing, but obviously, we still want to go out there and win as a team. So that is my biggest goal for the offense. We want to go out there and score.”
Robert Woods, Bills wide receiver, said, “They are keeping score, you know, you got to win when they are doing that. You have to put up a 'W' for one. It looks good and it feels good. Just have to win every game, every opportunity.”
Sammy Watkins, Bills rookie wide receiver, said, “It is just a game plan we have going in. It's all simple stuff, we are not trying to show our hand or do too much. It is all just learning the basics and we will win and lose with that.”
Bills and Panthers kick off Friday at 7:30 p.m.
