An eight-year-old boy is in critical condition after a farm accident Thursday afternoon at the Empire Farm Days in Seneca Falls.

Seneca County Sheriff’s deputies say a vendor was demonstrating a cow hoof trimming machine when the machine accidentally lowered on an eight-year-old boy, who had gotten underneath the machine.

The boy was flown to Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse where he is in critical condition with head injuries.

The sheriff’s office is investigating the accident.
