She's received big recognition on the international soccer stage but today, Pittsford native and Mercy High School graduate Abby Wambach is being recognized at her alma mater. One of the athletic fields at mercy is being renamed in her honor.

Wambach graduated from Mercy in 1998 but not before leading them to three straight Class A section titles. Wambach's scoring ability was crafted on the very field that will bare her name. Over six varsity seasons, she scored 142 goals.

The field will be called Abby Wambach '98 Field.
